Ahoy!
Hi. It's time for a design team card for Skull and Cross Buns using their fabulous crafting goodies.
This time it's the jumbo anchor embellishment that play the main star of the card. I wanted it to be attached to a ship so I drew a ship with a sail and colored it with my Copic markers. I also needed a chain to attach the anchor to the ship so I braided a chain using some wool thread from my mother's knitting basket (You take what you can find when crafting when you are on vacation).
After a while I realized that the purple color that the anchor originally had was all wrong for the project so I decided to heat emboss it using silver embossing powder. It turned out really good.
For the ocean I used the small mermaid scales stencil and dabbed some distress ink in salty ocean, mermaid lagoon and shaded lilac through it and then cut it out.
I stamped the palm trees and the "happy birthday" sentiment from the "Dinosaur gang" stamp set and drew a little island around the palms and colored it using Copic markers. The sentiment was embossed using silver embossing powder. I also found a "Ahoy" sentiment from the stamp set "You and me by the sea" by Hero Arts.
Lastly I needed a sky so I used what was left on my blue blending tool to create a soft blue sky. I also drew some birds on the sky.
For a final finishing touch I used some Wink of Stella on the waves.
