Computers and chibitronics

I've gone all technic for The Male Room's new challenge that is all about computers and/or gaming. I have made this card for my nephew's confirmation in a couple of weeks. That boy is all about computers and games so this challenge was perfect.

I also got to play with my chibitronics led lights as well. So much fun. I can't wait to make more light up-cards.

So this card included a lot of handdrawn images. I drew the screen, keyboard, mouse, cabinet, gamepad, phone and soda bottle. I also stamped the bowl of chips (From Lawn Fawn "Forest feast" stamp set) and the screen "foot" (Lawn Fawn - "Screen time" stamp set). I colored all these images using my copic markers and highlighted them using a white gel pen.

I then made the window with the starry sky using a few colors of distress oxcide inks and sprinkled the sky with silver glimmer mist by Tattered Angels and white paint spray. I also stamped and silver embossed a star constellation from the Lawn Fawn - "upon a star" stamp set.

I colored a piece of vellum grey using a copic marker and stamped and silver embossed the sentiment "Reach for the stars" also from the "upon a star" stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I then doubled up the vellum and placed it behind my screen wich I had already cut out the middle part from.

I found a scrap piece of patterned paper that looked like striped wall paper and used it for my background. I marked off where my chibitronic light and battery would end up (light behind the screen and bettry behind the keyboard and made my copper tape connection between my light and battery.

I then placed my table ( a piece of white cardstock), computer and the rest of the images on my card panel. The table with all the things are raised quite a bit from the rest of the card since the battery is kind of thick and needs it's space. And then you can press the keyboard to make the screen light up!  Yay!

This card was so fun to make.

I hope you will join us in making male computer cards the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what you will create.
