Blowing bubbles
One of the most fun things I do when making cards is combining stamp sets and making up stories that isn't in the original stamp sets.
I recently bought the adorable new "Butterfly kisses" stamp set by Lawn Fawn and by pairing it with the "Rub-a-dub-dub" stamp set, also by Lawn Fawn I created a cute blowing bubbles scene.
I started by creating a colorful sunset sky by combining pink, coral and yellow oxcide inks. I sprinkled some water to activate the inks. I then used the outside in stitched rectangle and stitched circle dies (also by Lawn Fawn) for my white window panel. I also colored a piece of cardstock using two green colors of oxcide inks and cut some grass using Lawn Fawn's grassy border die. I mounted the grass directly behind the white panel and popped the panel up on foam tape creating dimension between the sky and the grass.
I then started my stamping and coloring I stamped a heep of bubbles and the bubble bath bottle from the "Rub-a-dub-dub" stamp set. I masked the bottle to remove the "bath" from the bottle and drew some bubbles in it's place.
I also stamped the cute fox, three butterflies and the hand net. I masked the net to create a big soap bubble rod. I then colored all my images using Copic markers. I drew on some highlights using a white gel pen and covered all my bubbles using my Wink of Stella brush.
I placed my images on the card panel, some directly on the
background, some on foam tape on the background, some on the white panel
and some popped up on foam tape on the white panel. This created all
kinds of different levels and dimension.
For my sentiment I stamped a sentiment from the "Rub-adub-dub" stamp set, clear embossed it and cut it into a banner using a stitched banner die. I popped the banner up on foam before glueing it on to the card panel.
To finish the card I mounted the panel on foam and glued it to a white card base.
I am adding this card to the following challenges:
* Lawn Fawnatics - #51 Card sketch
* Simon says stamp wednesday challenge - Happy Birthday
* Time Out Challenges - #134 Playful
* The Card Concept - #114 Galoshes Galore (Inspired by the colors in a clean and layered style)
