Play in the puddles

Yesterday I shared a sweet kittycat card that I made for my daughter. I should have known that I couldn't just give her a card and not have a card for my son as well... He found the whole thing SO unfair and really wanted a card for his own.

So today he helped me pick out the images he wanted me to use and then I just had to create a "just because I love you-card" for him too.

I started the card stamping the images. The elephant, puddle and umbrella is from the stamp set "puddle play" from Hello Blue Bird Stamps. The flowers are cut out from floral clusters from the "Dearest Friend" stamp set from Altenew.

I colored all the images using my Zig Clean color real brush markers and drew some highlights on the images using a white gel pen.

I then made the background using grey ink on my MFT cloud stencil. I also masked of the bottom part of the background and sponged on vintage photo distress ink to make a dirt ground.

I mounted the images on the background panel, most of them on foam dots. To finish the card of I mounted the panel om a black card base and gave the middle of the flowers and the umbrella a coat of wink of stella glimmer pen.

I love the result. The flowery rain reminds me of the warm summer rain and taking long walks in the rain without getting cold.

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
- Simon says stamp monday challenge - Summer fun (Playing in the warm summer rain)
- Altenew - July 2018 inspiration challenge (Color inspiration)
