Have a whale of a time

It's time for a new challenge at The Male Room today and this time embossing is the star.

I wanted to create a background using different shades of embossing powder for this card so I started by swiping my embossing stamp pas in wave like motions across my paper and embossed first a layer of dark blue embossing powder, then a very light pearlescent blue powder. I then used a glittery white powder and a few spots of silver powder. I then used liquid glue and drew a few stripes og the blue surface that I covered with silver embossing powder and melted these as well creating dimensional silver waves.

I love this background. Take a look at the detail picture below to see how the waves shine.

I cut my card panel to size using a stitched rectangle die and colored the middle part of the panel using left over ink on my blending brush to create a light blue sky. I then matted my panel using black card stock.

I die cut a stitched circle using white card stock and stamped and silver embossed my sentiment. I also stamped and silver  Both the whale tail and the sentiment is from a stamp set by Papercraft Essentials.

I colored the tail with my copic markers before I glued it to my scene.

I attatched my card panel to a craft card base and popped the sentiment circle up on foam tape and glued it to the bottom left corner.

My finishing touched was a few Nuvo drops across the card.

I hope you will join us in using embossing for fun and beautiful cards the next couple of weeks.

I'm adding this card to the following challenges:
* Simon says stamp monday challenges - Frame it
* Always fun challenges - #150 Animals

  3. Wow Lise, thank you for sharing this, as I've never tried this technique before. Definitely worth getting that shine and various texture onto your card for that ripple effect.
