Sending cozy hugs

Do you have fond memories of your grandfather's house or do you have a mental picture of what sets a grandfather's house from any other house? A new challenge is up at The Male Room today and we are asking you to make a project that screams "grandfather's house".

For my card, made for my kid's grandfather's who celebrates his birthday these days, I started my using a Pink and Main stencil and dabbing a couple of blue distress oxide inks through it on to a piece of craft cardstock to create a wall paper for my grandfather living room.

I then used a piece of blue patterned paper, also by Pink and Main, to create the carpet floor. I used a lawn fawn stitched die to cut out my panel (room) and used a left over piece of the craft cardstock to create skirting for the room. To make it a bit darker than the wall I colored it brown using distress ink.

I then stamped my images using the November 2019 My Monthly Hero kit. For the grandfather clock I really tested my fussy cutting skills when I stamped the clock three times, once on white paper to color, once on golden paper to create the part outside of the clock face and once on shiny gold mirror cardstock to create the clock faces and the pendulums. I colored the whole clock using my copic markers and then cut and glued on the tiny pieces to the clock. I LOVE the result, but the camera didn't really pick up how cool it looks.

I colored the chair and rug also using my copic markers and glued all of the images to the card panel.

For my sentiment I die cut the sentiment spot using a die by Pink and Main two times, one off white and a gold mirror one. I stamped my sentiment on the off white one. Sentiment from the same stamp set as the images. I then glued the gold piece behind the off white one to create the illusion of a shadow before glueing the whole thing to the card.

I attatched the card panel to a white card base and finished the card by glueing on a few gold sequins across the card.

I really like this card and how a very christmassy card kit can be used in a very non-christmassy way.

I hope you will join us in making all kinds of fun grandfather-like creations the next couple of weeks.

I am adding this card to he following challenges:
