A bullfinch on a branch - GD Time Out Challenges

I am so happy to be guest designing for Time Out Challenges the next couple of weeks and I am sharing my first card for their new challenge today. The theme is "Nature" with an optional twist of a one layer-project. And you can also win a lovely prize from Uniko.

For my card I made my very first no line-cloring project. I started by stamping the bird and the branch from the "British garden birds" stamp set that I got in a Simply Cards and papercrafts magazine. I stamped the images using the "Barely beige" stamp pad by Simon says stamp. The bullfinch is heavily associated with christmas here in Norway (I don't know if it is in other countries as well) so I needed to make this a christmas card.

I colored my stamped images using copic markers and drew on needles on the branch to make a it christmas tree. I also stamped on three layered pine cones from the "Color layered trimmings" set by Hero Arts. I also used a white gel pen to highlight the images.

I drew on a few snowy hills behind the images and used a stamp pad from Hero Arts to brush on a light blue sky.

The sentiment is also from the "Color layered trimmings" set and is stamped in versamark black ink and then clear embossed.

I cut my scene to size using a stitched rectangle die by Lawn Fawn before I glued på one layer-panel on a red card base.

I hope you will make some nature hemed card and upload them to the Time Out Challenge blog the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what you make.

I will share another card made for this challenge next week.

  1. We are so pleased to have you as GD at Time Out and this is the perfect choice for our theme. I hadn't even thought of Xmas cards-so creative. And you did a super job at the colouring. Love the way you added the pines to the branch and the white gel pen. Plus the hills-you build up a wonderful scene and one that will inspire so many of our players x
