A happy birthday

I was all out of birthday cards that could work for little boys so I decided to make this playful card for my son's friend using lots of goodies by Skull and Cross Buns.

To make the background I used the brick pattern stencil. I masked off some wonky squares here and there to make the spaces for the images and used Distress oxcide ink through the stencil blending it from yellow through orange and then red. I cut my background panel to size using a stitched rectangle die.

For the images I stamped the robot, rocket and parcel from the "Christmas Santa workshop" stamp set. I love when I can use themed stamp sets for an all together different occation. The pizza slice is actually a melon slice from the "Tropical party" stamp set that I colored slightly different than I "was supposed to". The dinosaur and the sentiment is both from the "Dinosaur gang" stamp set. The little cup cake is an exclusive Skull and cross buns that I got in a Lollipop box club kit a while ago. I also needed a bottle of soda to complete the birthday party so I drew that one freehand.

All the images are colored using copic markers and highlighted using a white gel pen as well as a silver glitter pen for some details.

I mounted all of my images on the background panel, some using foam dots to create some dimension and then I mounted the whole thing on an orange card base.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
* Simon says stamp monday challenge - Party time
* Double D Challenges - It's on the menu
* Crafty Creations - #381
