Critter taekwondo

We are poening a new challenge at The Male Room today and this time the theme of the challenge is "Sports" and as a "taekwondo mum" I just had to make a taekwondo card.

I started by stamping the fox from the Lawn Fawn "Butterfly kisses" stamp set and the bunny from the "Some bunny loves uoy" stamp set also by Lawn Fawn. I then created a mask for them before I turned to my background.

I started by masking the area I wanted to work on. I then used my copic markers to create the pebbled beach for my two critters to practise their taekwondo. I made lots of dots using the colors W9, W7, W5, W3 and W1 to suggest the beach.

I then masked the top and bottom part of the card to create the ocean in the middle. I created this by drawing lots of swiped stripes in lots of shades of blue (B99, B97, B95, B93, B45, B41) and then highlighted using a white gel pen.

The sky was created using a MFT cloud stencil and the distress oxside colors "Tumbled glass", "Salty ocean" and "Wilted violet".

After creating my background I removed the critter masks, drew on their taekwondo suits and belts before I colored them, again using my copic markers.

Before I colored the belts I hade to ask my 13 year old taekwondo girl what colors she wanted the critters to get and she told me that that the fox had to have a red og blue belt as he is obviously doing a pattern called Shong Gun and he wouldn't have learned that pattern before. The bunny on the other hand is doing a much easier pattern, Tang Gun, so she may be a green or yellow belt bunny.

The choice was blue and green belts. My chosen colors are these:
  • Fox: E19, YR27, YR04, E33, E31, W3, W1, W9, E29, RV11, B45, C3, C1, 0
  • Bunny: W7, W5, W3, W1, RV11, R85, R00, G28, YG17, C3, C1, 0
The images also got highlights with a white gel pen.

I stamped my sentiment from the Lawn Fawn "Critter concert" stamp set to complete the stamping and coloring.

I then cut the card panel to size using the Lawn Fawn "outside oin stitched rectangle" die set and also used a MFT stitched rectangle die to cut the middle part of the panel. I then glued the outside part of the panel to a white card base.

To finish the card I popped the middle part of the panel up on foam tape before I glued it into it's place.

The biggest problem I had when creating this card was when my pretty kitty decided she would join the photo shoot. She posed, tried to steal the prop as well as the card itself. She's lucky to be so cute... lol

I hope you will join us in our sports challenge. I can't wait to see what you'll create.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:
* Copicmarker Norge - #117 Alt er lov med valgfritt Sommerfølelse
