Thinking of you

I'm back with a second round of cardsharing today because it's also time for a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero. This month time we are focusing on watercoloring.

I find watercoloring challenging. I feel like I dont have enough control over the color wich is what other people think is fun. So I have gone a bit out of my comfort zone on this one.

I started by cutting a piece of water color paper using the "Jungle Frame fancy die" and also stamping three water lilies from the "color layering dragonfly" stamp set. I then colored the die cut and the waterlilies using my two water color dot palettes by Daniel Smith; one from the Hero arts store and one from the June 2019 My Monthly Hero kit.

After the waterlilies had dried I used colored pencils to give the flowers a bit mor definition. I also used a white gel pen to give them a few highlights.

I then turned to my background. I swiped over a wet water color paper using a few different shades of blue, trying to make the brush strokes visible to make it look like waves. After the background had dried I used a white gel pen to create a few reflections in the water.

I glued the images, the jungle die cut and the background together and die cut a stitched rectangle frame using a Lawn Fawn die to frame the whole thing. I then glued the card panel to a white card base.

To finish the card I found these faceted gem stones in my stash that completed the look and then I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set as the images.

I hope you will join us in makeing watercolor creations the next month. I am excited to see what you will make.
I am adding this card to the following challenges:
* Paperminutes - #636 Sorrow
* Crafty Catz - #501
* Simon says stamp monday challenge - E is for... Empathy
* Global Design Project - #236 CASE the designer  (Inspired by the placement of the two flowers and the "window" in the middle.)
