A little gift box

Good morning (at least it is morning for me). Today I am back sharing a box for the new "box or bag-challenge" at The Male Room Challenge.

I have sort of a block against altered stuff. I like it best when I am creating on flat stuff, so this challenge was a bit of a challenge, but challenges are the way we grow as creative people, I think, so I was just going to town and hoping for the best.

My box was originally a box that a cherry cheese came in and it had such a lovely lime green color and that was what inspired me to go with this color scheme. So when I glued patterned paper on the box I left a thin line at the bottom of the box uncovered to show of that lovely color.

I have almost entirely used the july Crafty Courtyard kit by Pink and Main to create this box and I started by stamping the sail boat in the bottle (wich I loooove) and colored it using copic markers in the following colors:

Waves: G28, G24, YG03, BG13 and BG11
Ship: E29, E27, E35 and C9
Sails: R46, R27, R24, W3, W1, 0
Cork:E29, E27, E25
Sky: B00, B000, B0000

I also gave the colored image a fw highlights using a white gel pen.

I covered the box in papers from the Pink and Main kit and glued a piece of brown bakers twine around the top of the lid.

I then fussy cut the stamped image and popped it up on foam tape and glued it to the lid. I used three wood embellishments also from the kit and scattered a few sequins around the image.

To finish the box I dug out a sentiment from a book of Tim Holtz idea-ology stickers and placed it below the image.

And well. I like the result even though I had to think hard. And I love the before and after:

I hope you will join us in making bags and boxes the next couple of weeks. And we also have a DT-call so maybe you will play with us in the team as well.?

I am adding this box to the following challenges:

* Through the craft room door - Anything goes
