"A Santa on the roof...

...is better than 2 in the North Pole" - Old North Pole saying.

I hope you are all having a fantastic advent so far. Today I am guest designing for Copic Norge in their Advent calendar again with this Santa on the roof.

In my house we are all waiting desperately for christmas and are currently baking gingerbread house and traditional christmas cookies every night, but we are waiting for the 23rd of December to decorate our house as tradition is for us. But while we are waiting I am creating christmas cards and I love this santa stamp by Scrapping for less.

I started by stamping the image and drawing a horizontal line to create the roof top and then I was off to coloring:
  • Santa's face: E35, E31, E00 and RV11. White dots in cheek just to make him cute.
  • Beard, mustasche and hair: C5, C3 and C1. White gel pen to make the hair streaky and hairy and tangly. My santa's are not the glossy kinds.
  • Fur on the clothes: C3 and C1 in dots here and there. Blended with 0 to make it look a little more fluffy and white gel pen to create wven more structure.
  • Mittens: C5, C3, C1. I drew in a few v-shapes to create the illusion of knitted mittens.
  • Jacket and hat: RV69, R46, R27 and R24
  • Chimney: C9, C7, C5 and C3
  • Snow: I created shadows and foot prints in the snow by using C1 and B0000 and also 0 to blend.
Before I went on with the rest of the card I gave all my images a few white lines for highlights.

I fussy cut the image and used foam tape to attach it to the patterned paper that created a lovely base as a snowy background. I then cut my panel to size using a stitched rectangle die by lawn Fawn.

I stamped my sentiment (fromn the same stamp set as the Santa) and the stars (from the October My Monthly Hero set) and white embossed these. That created the loveliest shine to the card.

To finish the card I glued the panel to a white card base.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:
* Simon says stamp wednesday challenge - Traditional christmas
* Simon says stamp monday challenge - Stars
* Time out challenges - #150 Merry and Cheerful
* Use your stuff challenge blog - #387 Mint Challenge (sky)
* Crafty cardmakers - #247 Christmas
