A merry little christmas

Happy friday, everyone! Today we have new challenge starting at A Blog Named Hero and this time we are going for muted tones.

I don't really have any muted tones in my body, all bright and crazy bones, so this was a bit of a challenge, but I know so many of you is rocking the muted tones.

But after lots of ponderings I came up with this card where I have used the cool christmas trees from the October My Monthly Hero kit.

I started by masking off where I wanted the snow to go before I started blending the sky using a few purple and grey inks. I then found a star stencil by Skull and Cross Buns and wiped off the ink through it and created this muted starry sky.

I then used my mask and the leftover ink om my brush to create a few snowy hills for dimension.

I stamped my trees using black ink and the sentiment from the stamp set in the kit and colored the baubles on the trees using copic markers in muted purples, pinks and greys.

I then attatched my card panel to a white card base.

For the finishing touches and some extra shine I used a silver sakura gel pen on the snowy hills and the "hanger bits" on the baubles and also a few extra stars on the sky.

I can't wait to see your muted tones creations. Ready, set, create!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
* Try it on tuesday - Cold, cold, cold
* The holly and ivy christmas challenge - #60 Anything christmas goes
* Cardz4Galz - #109 Let it snow
* The paper shelter - #406 Christmas spirit

  1. Sometimes the simplest designs work best and this is one of those times. The dramatic contrast speaks silence and cold... I love this and the colours you chose.
