The Male Room is 6 years old

We are celebrating The Male Room's 6th birthday by creating birthday cards the next couple of weeks.

After being away for the summer I am now back to my house, craft room and back to work. And since I have only recently landed to the ordinary life again I took a little dive into my box of colored images that I haven't come around to using. i found these planets that i colored many moons ago. I also found a scrap piece of reverse stenciled pattern and decided to combine these.

When I created another card awhile ago I used distress oxcides through a star stencil and I loved the colors so I dabbed the reverse side of the stencil off on another card stock. This created this messy and cute starry sky.

Some of the planets are made using the "To the moon" stamp set by Create a smile stamps and the others are hand drawn. I colored them using my copic markers to recemble all the planets in our sun system. I highlighted them using a white gel pen.

I cut a circle out of the stenciled cardstock using a circle die by Lawn Fawn and popped it up on foam tape and glued it to the corner of my card panel before arranging the planets randomly around the edge of the circle. I used the biggest planets on top of the circle and the tiny ones directly on the panel. This created a fun dimensional effect that I really like.

I stamped my sentiment using a stamp by Norsk stempelblad and it reads "happy birthday" in Norwegian.

Finally I glued my panel on to a smoky blue card base and covered the planets with glittery Wink of stella (that does not show on the pictures unfortunately).

I hope you will join us in our birthday weeks. i can't wait to see what you create.

  1. Amazing card. I like the way you created planets in space. Great inspiration!
