In my imaginary neighbourhood

I'm going all primary colors on you today for our new challenge at The Male Room. This time we are inspired by famous artists.

I have such a fascination for Piet Mondrian and his works so I just had to choose him for my card. I have chosen his caracteristic geometric patterns in his colors and since his style often is associated with architecture I used some houses as well.

Well. I started coloring the stamped image from Concord & 9th's City Stacks stamp set. I used copic markers in all soft browns, warm greys and brownish reds, but used primary colors for the doors in the three little houses.

I then started measuring and designing my Mondrian style pattern and colored it also using my copics blending the colors from dark to light to make some depth in the pattern.

I die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die and cut it in half. I popped it up on foam tape and glued the panels on the top and bottom of a white piece of cardstock. I also popped the houses up on foam and tucked it behind the bottom Mondrian panel.

To finish the card I stamped one of the sentiments from the same stamp set as the houses and glued on 5 wooden stars on the "sky".

You can see where my insiration comes from on the Mondrian work below.

I hope you will dig out your inner famous artist and play with us the next couple of weeks.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
* Simon says stamp monday challenge - Make your own background
