The twists and turns

Sometimes the genius plan you have in your mind doesn't work out at all in real life. This card is an example of that. It went through no less than three stages of planning and replanning before it ended up like you see below. At one time it was going to be a stenciled parrot on the card and in the beginning the embossed geometric diamonds were going to be directly on the main panel.

But still; I'm happy with the end result. I think it turned out fun.

I started the process stamping an old Dylusions rubber stamp from about 5 years ago, maybe more, and heat embossed it using white embossing powder. I then sprayed all the colors of the rainbow over the stamped image using Dylusions spray inks creating a resist effect.

After having a couple of unsuccessful plans I rubbed some black distress ink over parts of the background before I sprayed the whole panel with Tattered Angels glimmer mist to create a beautiful shimmering effect.

I then cut the messy background into thin strips and fishtailed these to create a very messy and grungy, but clean CAS card in the end. The twists and turns... I finished the card using a sentiment from the May My Monthly Hero kit.

I am entering the card to these challenges:

  2. This is wonderful! I love how you got all that color and texture on a perfectly CAS card. I have been wondering lately if I'm the only person who spends hours tinkering around trying to get something one way and having it end up another. Haha, I guess that's just crafting:-)
