Green congrats

We are celebrating the georgeous greens today at The Male Room Challenge blog and I have made this summery card.

I chose to use a stamp set from Momenta stamps for my images. First I stamped the leaf image in several distress oxside greens on a piece of white cardstock. To dull them down a bit I decided to cut vellum to size using a Lan Fawn stitched rectangle die. To enhance the dimension the vellum creates I white embossed lots of wasps (I don't really like wasps, but white ones on paper is ok...) on the vellum and popped the vellum up on foam squares before glueing it on top of the leaf stamped panel.

I white embossed a sentiment from Norsk stempelblad on a green strip of cardstock. The sentiment reads "congratulations" in Norwegian. I popped the sentiment strip up on foam as well and attatched it on the card.

For finishing touches I attatched some light gold sequins and drew flying trails using a white gel pen all across the front of the card.

I then glued the whole thing on to a white card base.

I hope you will join us celebrating the greens.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:
* Simon says stamp wednesday challenge - Anything goes
* The Paper Players - #431 Spring Fever
* Double Trouble - #23 The wearin' o' the green
* Heart 2 heart - The wearin' o' the green

  2. Lise, These must be the prettiest wasps I've seen! The green leaves beneath the vellum are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your creation with the Paper Players!

  3. Such a pretty card, Lise! I love the background you created with the leaves, wasps and vellum overlay. Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players!

  4. What a great card. I am so happy you joined us at H2H because I have never heard of the Male Room and I think I will go check them out to get inspired. As we all know man cards are the hardest. :)

  5. Love how you toned down your personalized stamped background and used vellum with the white embossing on the wasps...I'm like you not particularly fond of wasps but they truly look beautiful in your layout. And to add the gold sequins for Twisted Sister will make her happy. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and Heart2Heart.

  6. Gorgeous greens indeed...a very pretty card! The embossed vellum is a delightful addition! The background showing through is so soft and pretty! Thanks for playing with the Player this week!
